In the Fall of 1987, almost no one 
in Kern County had even heard of Paintball,
let alone played it. And, who knows, maybe
I wouldn't have either had it not been
for a friend who wandered into a new store
near his home one afternoon out of sheer 
boredom. This store (it's name need not be
told here) was the beginning of something 
great for me & many others of the surrounding 
area. You see, this was a paintball store. 
Something completely new. And, as of yet, 
practically unheard of. This is where we 
bought our "legendary" NelSpot 007's & 
began to play paintball. At first, we played 
"pirate" games in the foothills surrounding 
Bakersfield (where I live). As time went by & 
the popularity of the sport grew in Bakersfield 
& it's surronding areas, the store owner (& his 
parents) opened the first paintball field in 
Bakersfield. It was (& still is) located at Poso 
Creek. This may seem minmal to many of you. But, 
rest assured, that it was far from that. You 
see, this same field having changed owners, 
management, names, & layout is still the field 
that we go to, some 13 years later. I'd be 
lying if I told you that I've played every 
weekend since then. But, paintball is most
definitely still one of my passions & my sport 
of choice. Suffice to say, it's been a long 
strange trip. But, as the sport grows, so will 
all the good things it means to all those who 
are a part of it. This page, like our beloved 
sport, will continue to grow & change with the 
times & technology. So, check back often. Most 
importantly though, play hard & by the rules!
