Amanda Grayson was born in the year 2208 (conjecture).  She worked as a school teacher until the year 2229 when she married Sarek, a Vulcan Ambassador to the Federation of Planets.  At this time she moved to Vulcan to live the remainder of her life and help Sarek raise his son, Sybok, from a previous marriage.  In 2230 she gave birth to a son, named Spock – the first human/Vulcan hybrid to ever survive to full term.    Over the years Amanda developed a great respect for the Vulcan way of life, considered it to be “a better way than ours”; however she freely admits it is not easy.  In fact, she deems that it is the ‘Vulcan way’ that kept her husband and son from mending their 18-year rift until a heart attack suffered by her husband while aboard their son’s ship brought the two together.

After Spock’s death and refusion by the fal-tor-pon in 2285 Amanda played a vital role in his reeducation, especially focusing on helping him to accept and understand his human feelings.  It is believed that Amanda died peacefully in her home on Vulcan, although the exact year of her death is unknown.  She was survived by her husband Sarek, and their son Spock.
