Vulcan’s Forge The purpose of my proposal is to provide a process whereby the members of Vulcan's Forge can develop a plan or decide what events or projects they want to accomplish in 2002. This will, hopefully, insure that the projects undertaken are the one's that interest the general membership and will be the one's that people want to challenge themselves by being a part of. Some of the potential projects that have been or could be accomplished by VF include art exhibit's, poetry readings, craft sales, plays, writing contests, writing workshops, newsletters, magazines, etc. The goal is to challenge ourselves to move beyond where we are and to reach our full potential. To dare to be great! To move beyond our lowly state. To satisfy our need to be creative and to create. Why not? Let us do something that we have not done. Let us use our collective energies and gifts to bring something special into existence. VF has copies of Reaching Across with the Arts. A self-help manual for mental health consumers that outlines how to do art exhibits, establish writing groups, start a publication, create an arts business, etc. This publication should serve as an excellent “how to”resource for any type of VF project. Anyone who is interested in participating in the event planning process, wants to get re-involved, dares to be great, and would like to see VF move aggressively forward to new horizons can contact the Recovery Initiative office at (513) 221-8660 (leave message with Doris) or Mister Lee at (513) 281-2794. Any non-consumer who is interested in assisting us in this adventure is also welcome to contact us. Some ask why, we ask why not and why not now!
