The other day I was rummaging through my closet when I came across the video version of National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1. I had somehow forgotten how hilariously funny this movie was, that is until I popped that puppy into the VCR. Emilio Estevez (Colt) and Samuel L. Jackson (Lugar) are brilliant as they play characters who loosely resemble (I emphasize loosely!) those played by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the Lethal Weapon series. The major difference lies in the simple fact that Loaded Weapon is absurdly entertaining while Lethal Weapon....IS NOT! Kathy Ireland (Miss Demeanor) shines in the role of dimwitted love interest to Colt and all around hottie! Trying to unravel the mystery of cocaine laced girl scout cookies, the all-star cast mold this spoof-laden laugh-fest into a thing of beauty. Leaving countless victims in its wake Loaded Weapon is unrivaled when it comes to poking fun at various films and their stars. Unquestionably one of the funniest movies ever!
