Class Description: AP World History is a yearlong course
that will investigate the history of civilization from its beginnings unto the
present.
Instructional Methods: Students will be taught through as variety
of methods with lecture format being the most common. Students will be responsible for obtaining notes from any classes
missed.
Homework: Students will be responsible to read and
comprehend 30- 50 pages from their textbook weekly. Students should expect additional homework 3-5 days weekly. Students should also be spending 20-40
minutes nightly reviewing notes.
Tests/ Quizzes: A test will
be given at the conclusion of each unit.
Students should expect weekly quizzes, announced and unannounced. Quizzes will be given in a multiple-choice
format. Tests will be largely
written.
Project: Students will complete a project/
presentation each semester.
Participation: Students are expected to participate during
class in a positive manner.
Participation grades will be given weekly and will comprise 10% of the
semester grade.

* I believe in a rather
strict grading scale. Generally, I
don’t see the need to “round” grades.
In other words, if my computer says 89.9% that is a B+, not an A-. Take responsibility for your own grade and
don’t make it close!
