The Washington DC VA Medical Center Community Clinic - Alexandria provides better access to medical care for veterans living in the Northern Virginia area.
The Community Clinic - Alexandria is located in the Northern Virginia Vet Center, 8796-D Sacramento Drive, near Fort Belvoir.
The clinic provides basic medical care, preventive care and health education for eligible veterans. Health care is provided and coordinated by a physician and nurse case manager.
If you are assigned to a specialty clinic such as Neurology, mental Health or Principal Primary Care at the VA Medical Center, you will remain with that group at the Medical Center. Referral services are provided as needed.
The Community Clinic - Alexandria is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 am to 4 pm, and now open Fridays from 8 am to noon.

Q. How do I make an appointment at the Community Clinic - Alexandria?
A. Veterans may call (703) 719-6797 Monday through Friday between 7:30 am and 4 pm to schedule an appointment, for enrollment or to obtain a picture identification card. Veterans may also call the Medical Center Advice Line (202) 745-8247 Monday through Friday between 7:30 am and 6 pm to schedule an appointment or for additional information.
Q. What if I need care when the clinic is closed?
A. If your illness is not life-threatening, call the Medical Advice line and a nurse will advise you on what to so and where to seek medical treatment. If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room for immediate medical attention.
Q. Who should I call if I have questions about my health care?
A. Call the nurse case manager Tuesdays or Thursdays between 8 am and 4 pm at (703) 719-6797. At other times you should call the Medical Advice Line nurse.
Q. How do I get my prescriptions filled?
A. During your scheduled visit, this will be discussed with you. The first refill on a new prescription will be automatically mailed to you. For additional refills by mail you must complete and return the pharmacy refill form that is included with the first refill.
Q. If I need an X-ray can it be done at the Community Clinic?
A. If ordered by your doctor, X-rays will be taken at the DeWitt Army Medical Center at Fort Belvoir.
Q. Will there be transportation services to the clinic?
A. Under limited circumstances, transportation may be provided. Call the clinic for more information.
