Re-texturing Tutorial for Clothing
Morrowind

The purpose of this tutorial is to help new texture artists learn how to use Paint Shop Pro 7 to re-texture clothing for Morrowind. In the interests of getting this out to people as quickly as possible I'm going to assume a few things. You know how to use The Elder Scrolls Construction Set [hereafter referred to as the CS]. You understand the basics of hex-editing and creating a plu-in for Morrowind. You have a basic feel for/understnding of your graphics program -- I'll be using PSP7. At some point I may decide to expand this tutorial to include those basics as well as deal with more advanced texturing techniques. Ok, now let's begin. - First decide what you want to re-texture. I've found that skirts are the simplest to work with so that's what we'll make. We'll do this one:

Take a good look at the mesh while you're in the CS. Keeping the shape of the object in mind while you're working on the texture will help you decide where to line things up. Notice that this skirt sort of has two "layers".
Now open the original texture in PSP7.
