history
Welcome to The Viking Wrestling Federation... The Fed that just won't die. You have clicked on the link to find out just where in the heck this dog and pony show started out. But the beginning, like all things, starts with an end..
The EWF. Extreme Wrestling Federation. A man named Vince joined on a lark one fateful day as Al Snow. Starting out with a short feud and then teaming with fellow EWF member The Viking King, Vince put his sights on the then EWF World Heavyweight Champion, HardKore. But it was not to be. Not before. Not after, but DURING the second and last EWF Pay-Per-View, Halloween Massacre, a hacker took the fledgling e-fed out. Vince, feeling like he was cheated, started an e-fed of his own, and was so inspired by the hijinks of a few of his fellow fed members, that he named it the Viking Wrestling Federation.
To start out the new fed, Vince started as his own wrestler again, Al Snow, and then offered all former EWF members to join and honor all belt holders. The only two champions to make the jump were World Heavyweight Champion Hardkore, and Hardcore Champion The Viking King. A few others also joined, but soon left as another fed's ending spelled success for the VWF. The HCWF had some problems, and such wrestlers as Flex, Fugitive, The Rock(1st), and Jax joined up. With the additions of Jason Palkovics, Apocalypse, Michael Bunda, Crimson Lightening and Triple H, the fed was off to a good start as Triple H finally defeated HardKore for the VWF Title, and continued a feud through the end of the year. The Viking King also continued to rack up wins, as the only champion in the fed to hold on to his belt until he vacated it, and was then defeated by HardKore the next night to end his streak. On a side note, the very first VWF match was between Crimson Lightening and Phoenix.
The new year saw new faces, as wrestlers such as MC 7evenz, Dr.Feelgood, Nurse Ratchet, Mike Awesome and Dare Devil all joined up. The future looked bright as Fugitive established himself as a main eventer, winning multiple World Titles as the fed moved into it's first Bloodlust PPV, it's equivilant to Wrestlemania. As a good portion of the early roster left and made way for the new blood to rise up, everything was looking good. With Fugititve taking the Commishioner spot and forcing the legendary Triple Threat Theatre match at the Aftermath PPV between Dr.Feelgood and The Viking King, it seemed as if nothing could stop the VWF. Even Crimson Lightening taking his pants off for the first time. From mad men trashing entire arena's with a wrecking ball to former champions grabbing victory with last gasp desperation moves against their all time nemesis. The VWF has seen some of the best matches around.
The Viking Wrestling Federation hasn't seen all roses since it's November 99 Inception. 2001 spelt disaster for the humble fed. Early that year, Vince, founder of The Viking Wrestling federation, had to leave for his own reasons. This followed a spell of poor and late shows due lack of staff when as much as a two thirds of the staff were hit with family problems of some kind. Vice President Samantha was unable to take over and so the job was left to Vince's second hand man, Triple B.
Triple B breathed some new life into The VWF with a new look and some new ideas. For a while The VWF was sitting pretty again. Dr.Feelgood established himself as a VWF Main Eventer, capturing the World Title. Dr.Jekyl also emerged as a big star, succeeding in retiring current VWF Commentator The Viking King from active wrestling. Curt Evans came on the scene, destroyed someone's baseball bat and never looked back, taking names left and right. Crimson Lightening emerged as one of the... more unique of champions. Mike Awesome, Iman Sain, Maxine Baibe and SlimShady all moved up in the ranks. And Smart A$$ was there somewhere too. Then a second disaster hit. The Viking Wrestling Federation was attacked by terrorists, leaving the fed in a state and this also caused the loss of a lot of records. This sent The Viking Wrestling Federation crashing back into a slump that it was just starting to get out of. Triple B brought in Slam Magazine writer James Vickers to help him run The VWF and this proved to be a big help. The place was given a complete overhaul by soon to be Commish Jon Robert and The VWF looked set for a return once again.
Fate as it seems, had it's heart set on The VWF's demise. Triple B was forced to take a temporary leave of absence leaving The VWF in Vice President Vickers hands. This temporary leave eventually stretched to permanent leave and Vickers, hit by the September 11th bombings was absent without leave for a few months. And Jon Robert was away on other business, leaving make-shift Commishioner Dann Foxx in charge of the runnings. Dann, although very knowledgable in the wrestling side of things, had little knoweledge of the other side of running a wrestling fed and so while the shows were good, there was only so much Dann could do alone.
Despite all this, light shines at the end of this gloomy tunnel. Dann tried his damn hardest to keep The VWF running and did enough to do just that. Long serving VWF superstar SlimShady informed Jon about the state of The VWF and he returned. Pretty soon Vickers re-joined the fray and the Unification PPV was held. A number of titles were 'Unified' to bring back some prestige to the titles. After which Jon got to revamping The VWF with another new look and feel, built for stability and ease of use for the staff.
And this is where we stand today. The Viking Wrestling Federation est 1999. From the parent company of Viking Enterprizes, many hours of entertainment and merriment have been made here in these hallowed 'halls.' Not everything is the same, as different names read on the limelight. Where HardKore started, SlimShady continues. Where Triple H destroyed, Dare Devil cuts without notice. And where things used to suck... well... Smart A$$ makes it less suck..i...er. May this page be filled with more history in the right through to 2005 and deeper into the future.
Once SlimShady won and held the World title for almost 6 months, he got dethroned by Smart Ass. SlimShady then quit the federation and joined up once again hiding and won the tag team titles while Smart Ass defeated his title only to lose it to Dare Devil who then lost it to Surge. Then SlimShady showed who he really was and took over the VWF only to run it in to the ground because of a simple mistake he learned from. He then closed the federation down for 6 to 8 months because of lack of staff and wrestlers and the shame that hung over his head. SlimShady finally returned to open the VWF back up. Claiming it is the NEW VWF, he got staff! Like Dan Foxx, and others to help him out with the hope the NEW VWF will rule supreme over all other e-feds once again.
Which brings us to November of 2004. Five years since the VWF first opened it's doors, it reopens them now. After over a year in oblivian it has risen once more. The remainder of the roster attempted to reform under the flag of WCCW with such notable names as ViXXen, Curtis Payne, and Dan Foxx, but it was not to last. For whatever reason, interest wained and WCCW finally closed it's doors. But that just leaves more room for The VWF to continue to rise to glory. Only time will tell what will happen...
