Vincent's Top 10 Guide to Avatars
Last Updated: 14 August 1998
Here
are some of my rankings of the Avatars Strength according
to my calculations. Arranged in descending order, the top
being the best of course. There are 4 groups - Best
Potential for Waterdeep, Best Individual Strenght, Best Group Strength, Weakest Avatars. Any other avatars that are summoned out of Waterdeep not on this list of course will not be as strong as those summoned from this list given everything else the same; given same number of avatar points spent. Of course, you are all welcome to disagree with me. My criteria for selection is based first on aggregate defensive strenght then followed by aggregate attack strength. Which follows the maxim of the best offense is a good defense; the idea is that what's the point of having a powerful attack and still die in the process. By my selection, you will leave to fight another day and still win the fight. And of course, if you still want to see the nitty gritty statistics of each avatar, please click here. |

For those who are more particular about the strength of each Avatar, I have provided more tables listing by category I feel is important. Where you see Helm listed I have extended the list by 1 extra, afterall Helm cannot be summoned at all.

The group stats take into account of the Avatar individual attack or defense strength and also all bonuses it provides to the stack in its group; essentially it is ranked in such a way that it is the best Avatar to have when fighting in a group. For those who prefer to have their Avatars running about solo should choose from the above tables for Best Individual Attack or Defense Strength.

What about Avatars that are crappy, or just doesn't match up to mark. All being fair, all Avatar stats are measure by the largest summonable community -- that is a city. Where summoning from Waterdeep the table takes into account of the Metropolis bonus. The other tables are all measured by summoning from a city; where most likely an average player will be summoning from any way. For those who are summoning from Waterdeep please look at the Best Potential Avatar at the Top of the page. So the following table list the worst Avatar to summon into the game, mainly because they can be summoned from the worst case a settlement. The bottom being the weakest Avatar.
