Maybe this is bad sportmanship . As a somewhat expert player . My encounters of many players has left a bad taste in my mouth . I find only a handfull of players who will be willing to help you . Also found a handfull that decieve you at will . This part of the key of the game . My future in these games is now being question . Thanks to both John Holts and you . I got much more insite of the game. I try my luck with Orc vs dwarves . Even thou it is my first game in Fr#144 . I deagree with you about team playing . At lease I have 49 more allies . Where as in forgotton realm even your allie has turn agaist you . I had it happen so many times . Thanks for time . Wolf the Great

I would like to see alternative strategies discussed - is it possible to win without magic-users? Can one win with only 1 or 2 hitpoint units? Are 5 Heavy Infantry as good as 4 Pike or 12 militia? Are two militia better as scouts than 1 Lt. Cav?

What would like to see more of?: A simple chart formula
Suggestions?: Down below
Comments:
A simple formula for us first timers. Mainly a attack stack unit with so many magic pts;so many missle pts; then so many melee pts. That way we will know what we need to attack that force with. This help the first timer. Example: Attack force is 2 Human priest; With 3 Cal Archers; with 2 pike units;with leader--lord Defense force is 6 human archers;with 2 light cal -------------------------------------------------- Now say the attacking forces is two turns from defense force. Now what can the defense add to encounter to survive the battle? See my point. Logic will be the cheapest way possible. What do you think?

I have played forgotten realms for about the seventh game.I do struggle just like any other new player. I try with only friendship games. It seem that you last a little longer. But if go up agaist an experience. You normally donot stand a chance. This where you have to depen on your allies. I just took my first lair. To me it was three whoppie-does.Have not taken the others yet. I believe that it key of this game. Somehow an experience can muster an army up more faster than any other player.Surely there is a way a person can do the same ?I struggle to invest build my army, and defend hometerriory. As for items. I just wrote to john holts. He reply that the spacing is easy to count.I tell ya that it is still hard to read.Well I will try to read his chart. Well I will close now. You do a good job; aswell john holts in explain the main subjects.

In addition to your tips and hints-I have found that using your avatar to give a bonus to the rest of your army and to give bonus hits is most effective. With the bonus hits, if you have 100 units in an army with something/someone that gives bonus hits y u have 100 more hits in the army. I have been laying this game for 3 years now and I find enhancing your entire army and making the army more effective is better than having a great general.

I give you credit for all the work you've put into this site. I follow the server so I'm familiar with your status as "Sage of Waterdeep". I do agree with your comments re: ODS. As R71 I can attest to how tough it is for an Orc to survive in a Dwarf world One thought I have is it seems to me that there are a lot more good aligned comms in the game then evil ones which make it hard to make large stacks when the race factor kicks in and it does as I know. Be talking to you. Geoff

What would like to see more of?: Game subtleties
Comments:
Good website. I would perhaps add a page for Avatar design and a page of game subtleties like: 1)Is there initiative in combat or simaltaneous attack? I've seen mutual annihilations so I conclude it must be simaltaneous attack. 2)Tablet distribution. Does one tablet typically appear in north, and other in south? Is the right place always a city or metropolis? What is the average turn for the Right Time? 3) Exploiting the Sequence of Events (e.g. Allying and Opposing a player on the same turn) 4) Exploiting standing orders (e.g. giving a unit with a standing Advance order a Move order too. 5) Exposing cheaters (Reveal players who are playing multiple "Stooge Realms", looting their treasuries, using the second realm's armies as mercenaries, and stealing map location info, etc.
