| My Comment: Morning Musume is like Meneudo, once a member reached the certain age they left the group. Created in 1997 by Faggot Extrodinaire つんく♂ from the "losers" of the talent show Asayan, the gimmick to sell 50,000 units in 5 days created Spice Girls Japanese Style, the many genres they would touch was reborn with the adding of 13 year old Goto Maki and manufactured pop would never be the same again. The hit singles wouldn't stop and the exit of fan favorites would not cease. By the time I write this, the carnage has seen the departures of solid members Aya, Yuko, Maki, Sayaka, and by the end of 2003 our beloved Nacchi as well. As MoMusu gets younger and younger and stiffer and dumber and lamer, all we can hold on to is the memories. Probably by this time next next year, we will see Yossi as the leader, Rika her co-leader and the departures of 1st Gen Kaorin and co-leader from 2nd Gen Yaguchi. To me, the best version is still the 10 Member version lead by the charismatic wit of Yuko, the vocal talents of Maki and Nacchi, and the 4th Generation talent. I dunno, it's just where I came in: Love Machine/Happy Summer Wedding/I Wish were the first songs that got my attention. Out. |
