Of WØSCI
The club station was set up in the previous location of the Science Center of Iowa in 2001. This was a very significant event for the Des Moines Radio Amateur Association, as the Science Center had been the home of the DMRAA station in the 60's and 70's. Now the partnership between the Science Center of Iowa and the world of ham radio has been renewed. The difference is that now WØSCI is operated by its own club which recruits members from the ham community at large. In May of 2005 the Science Center completed construction of its new building near downtown Des Moines and the club radio station moved with it to the new location at 401 W. Martin Luther King Pkwy, Des Moines, Ia 50309. You are invited to visit and to operate the club station while you are visiting.
