History: Gareth “The Scottish Snake” Evans was an all-star striker for Hibernian, a team in the Scottish Premier Football (Soccer) League, leading them in the 1996 season with 37 goals scored and in 1997 with 41 goals. He also starred on the Scottish National Team. In 1997, he made his debut in a local pro-wrestling show, mostly due to a dare from another player on the National team. It was love at first slam. He spent a lot of his time working on the basic moves, and once he mastered them, he moved on to more athletic maneuvers, and was always willing to experiment on teammates. His teammates were none to thrilled, but as long as he was scoring goals, they tolerated it.

In April, 1998, a bizarre incident took place. In a friendly match against Trinidad & Tobago, Gareth was assessed a foul for a rather hard tackle, which injured a T&T defender. Gareth was furious, insisting that the defender was playing up his “injury.” A heated argument ensued, and Gareth ended up chokeslamming the referee to the turf, thus showing the world that wrestling moves are not ‘fake.’ The referee spent most of a month a hospital bed, suffering a stress fracture to one of his lumbar vertebrae. Gareth spent most of that month appealing the decision: He was banned for life from international competition. The Scottish Football Association upheld the ban, and he was no longr allowed to play for Hibernian, or on any other Scottish league team.

With nothing else to do, he moved to America, and settled in New York City. He played a season with the NY/NJ Metrostars, but the level of competition was not up to contemporary European standards, so he found himself bored. Following that season came his official retirement from soccer.

Then came his other true love: wrestling. He started off in the TWSN, winning a title or two, and moved on to the W4F. He won a few titles there too, but more importantly formed a lasting friendship with Raizzor and his brother, Chamelion.

That federation shut its doors, and Gareth moved to the Pioneer Wrestling Alliance. Shortly, after he won the Intecontinental Belt, and just as quickly, he lost it. He also had a short title run as a tag-team champion by pinning, of all things, a stuffed bear. Then he seemingly disappeared from the face of wrestling. He made one comeback and then disappeared once more.

It is rumored that during this period he was operating a wrestling school in NYC, although nothing has been uncovered to support this. Whatever he did during that time must not have proven worthwhile, as he has resurfaced in the PWA, with a driving ambition and a mission: to win. Matches first, then gold later.
