What you probably didn't know about my little sister
I have two sisters. One of them is close to my age and size: she is two years younger than I, half an inch taller, and has hair slightly longer than mine. Her name is Louisa. Let me describe to you my other
sister, who is more artsy and eccentric:
My youngest sister is very blonde, so blonde in fact that one would think she bleached her hair on a regular basis; however, I assure you this is her natural hair color. She tends to
dress up in dark blue-grayish suits with white socks and shoes. Her skin is lighter than mine, and in correlation with our largely British ancestry, she likes to eat bland food. The really odd thing about her--I think--is the makeup she wears. She prefers black lipstick, black eyeliner, white mascara, and--believe it or not--some black paint on her nose. She still asks my mom to fix her
hair every day even though she is fourteen. Let me tell you, though--when she wears her Tom Cruise shades, she is hot and she knows it! And she's just adorable in pajamas. There's really no other way to describe her.
My little sister has a deep-founded love of music. She delights when violinists give her concerts. As a very expressive little girl with high self-regard (thus having none of that
so-called inferiority complex of teenage girls), she loves to sing to the violinists' beautiful music. Some people are shocked when they see my little sister "drown out" her accompanists. Generally, the more famous the musician, the more surprising my sister's audacity at grabbing the spotlight. However, I love this little
quirk my sister has and find it quite inspiring, especially when I accompany her. Though it is true she demands to be noticed all the time, I tell you without a doubt that she basks in the limelight! She always takes center stage in the middle of the room.
Most of us do not enjoy waking up at 4:30 in the morning. My sister is different. Even before the newspaper has been dropped off, she is eager to bring it inside the house. And she reads it at lightning-speed! It is fortunate for me that she enjoys this chore because I like to sleep past the wee hours of the morn.
My sister also finds it incredibly fun to collect the mail. Sometimes she talks to the mail carrier and sometimes she just runs outside and grabs the mail, but she is just as motivated for this job as for getting the newspaper. Another activity she enjoys is going backpacking. She indicates that she likes sailing, although I know from experience that it's unbearable to her when other boats pass us during a race. Somehow, she is still scared of thunder and lightning and tornadoes.
The only thing I regret about my sister is her poor tolerance of humor. She gets upset if we start laughing too loud. She is also slightly selfish (well, let me rephrase
that as self-thinking). She loves to be loved herself, and she will accept a kiss from anyone, but sometimes she is bothered if she sees others hugging. Maybe this is
just a sign of being a young teenager. On the other hand, when she sees someone in distress, she feels obligated to help. She is extremely protective of little animals who need help.
I love my little sisters immensely. They mean so much to me. I am fortunate to have two little sisters!
