The New 'Do
as far as I can remember, I have always had the same basic hair style, sometimes it was longer, and sometimes shorter, but it was always the same - my curly hair dried straight that would frizz around the front.
so at the end of school i decided to cut it all off on a whim.  at first i was really nervous, but everyone back at school said it was very cute.  however, some responses were more memorable than others ---

my mother, "oh wendy, NO!!!" with much agreement from my father.

i went to visit my sister about a week later and she didn't recognize me.  and her friends asked which one of us was older.  this was quite thrilling to me the younger sister who has always looked younger.

my aDOREable chem professor stopped me in the hall that week and said what happened to your hair!  (while i was quite thrilled that he noticed, i could have reciprocated the question.  he may be cute, but he's missing some hair upon his head.)

in similar fashion a family friend came over and said, wow all your hair is gone.  then turned to my brother who hadn't been home in 3 years and had lost some hair too, the natural way.  he said, i'd rather hear it for her.
hair today.  gone tomorrow.
look.  short hair!
