WORK EXPERIENCE | |
10.01-09.02 | ETC Dongguk Foreign Language Institute, Gyeong Ju, South Korea. English instructor in the most reputed language institute in Kyong Ju, South Korea. I enjoyed teaching in this school which, exceptionally in South Korea, uses exclusively native speakers to teach conversational English. While working in this school I continued experimenting different teaching methods and I continued building my personal library of teaching materials. |
05.01-09.01 | SISA Foreign Language Institute, Gyeong Ju, South Korea. I used this first full-time teaching experience to get acquainted with the available course books and other teaching materials and to start building a personal library of teaching materials, many of which are of my own production. |
07.00-08.00 | Senior Activity Leader, Embassy CES summer school at Norwich City College. In my first experience in this sector I was in charge of organising trips and activities for over 200 students of English of different ages and nationalities and responsible for the organisation of up to fifteen members of staff. My duties included offering a full activities and cultural programme within a tight budget to satisfy both the requirements of the students and their parents and of Embassy CES. This sometimes involved tactfully searching for compromises in difficult and stressful situations. |
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
10.00-12.00 | - Volunteer in Eds Basement, Norwich. Working in a day centre for homeless people aged 16-30, which involved offering support to visitors and managing the facilities in the centre, ensuring correct use and respect for the centre and for other users. 09.99-06.00 | - Treasurer and President of the Latin Society. I enjoy organising events and participating in Campus life. We organise lectures, trips, ‘cafés -tertulia' (informal get-togethers), Spanish Food Days and Fiestas. |
- Public Relations of the Photographic Society. As part of this society I have helped organise ‘photographic trail' trips and exhibitions, and have helped to establish a partnership with the museology department of the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts for their annual student exhibition.
09.98-06.99 | - This year was spent studying in Marseille, France. I enjoyed the French culture and participated in many cultural and sportive activities. I enjoyed the challenge of communicating in a second language and in this way I acquired fluent conversational French. |
08.96-09.96 | - One month inter-railing around Europe. I visited many different countries, marvelling at the vast cultural richness of Europe. Thus I acquired an interest in travelling and experiencing other cultures. |
