Monthly Meeting Minutes

Brown County Amateur Radio Club Inc.

The November meeting of the Brown County Amateur Radio Club was held at the Brown County Public Library at 7:00 PM. In attendance were Pete Lenges, Rick Harris, Nick Pendergrass, Alan Westwater, Bob Bowers, and Dave Hennessey.

Dave Hennessey took a few snap shots for possible use on the Brown County Hills Bike Challenge web page. Any with “action shots” of BC Hams in action please forward them to Dave and Rick Harris for use on the websites.

Several ideas about a membership drive were discussed, including holding a class to try to encourage more new Hams locally, having a special event station at a high visibility function (Spring Blossom Festival, October in Nashville, or at a Bean Blossom music event).

Pete L. volunteered to act as EMA liaison for the club and to be the contact person for the EMA communications officer.

The need for a club election was brought up with vacant offices of President and Vice President. Nick was nominated for President and Rick Harris was nominated for VP. Nominations were tabled and to be reopened next meeting with the election to follow.

The High School amateur radio project was discussed with Pete and Rick Harris going to talk with the instructor and also gather info on the ISS paths and schedules for a possible appointment for making a contact via radio.

Upcoming events to keep in mind are Brown County Hills Bike Challenge on June 17th, 2006 and Field Day June 24th, 2006. Anyone wanting to chair one of these events PLEASE speak up.

Next meeting will be held December 22, 2005 7PM @ BC Library.
