Tracking Page for reported HAL2000 Bugs
The
Mission of this page is to Identify, Rate and Track issues that arise in the course of our use of HAL Software.
The
Purpose of doing so is to encourage improvement of the software, both in terms of getting flaws corrected and in getting needed new features developed.
This is primarily a vehicle for tracking problems experienced here at Stonybrook Ranch, but we also welcome reports from other HAL users.
Issues displayed are listed in Four categories.
(1) Showstoppers. Serious bugs. These are issues that impact serious, productive use of HAL. Primarily, these are issues that affect HAL's stability and reliability.
These are issues considered necessary to be fixed before we would sell and support HAL to a client.
(2) Annoyances and Embarrassments. Annoying but mostly cosmetic bugs. These issues are less serious, but
embarrassing. They have work-a-rounds and can be lived with, but may give the suggestion of sloppy design and
implementation, or poor Quality Control. While they are mostly minor in nature, we most strongly encourage A.L. to address them as they detract from the overall feel of quality the software should exhibit.
(3) Needed Features. New proposed features which are extremely desirable. These desired new functions are believed to be very important to the support support of serious Home automation applications.
(4) Desired Features. New proposed features which are in the "nice to have" category. This does not mean they are trivial and can be ignored, but are indeed very desirable features. Nonetheless, they are of a lower priority.
Issues displayed are further color-coded to reflect four status categories
for ease of "at-a-glance" updates.
Red indicates a submitted, but
un-acknowledged issue.
Yellow means an issue is acknowledged
and being worked on.
Green implies an issue has been
addressed and resolved.
Blue suggests an issue is closed
without resolution.
Closed issues are moved to the
Resolved Bugs list for historical reference purposes.
If you would like to add an issue to this list, or believe an issue is resolved but not so listed, please send an email to the Deco Group and we will happily add your information to the page.
NOTE: With the release of HAL 4.0.5 we are "clearing the
slate" and starting over with regard to most of the bugs and issues.
If you have issues you would like to post here, even if they are old
issues that are not resolved, please email wa4otj@yahoo.com
