Arrests over church bombings in Central Sulawesi
Indonesian police have arrested three men allegedly involved in the bombing of
churches on New Year's Day in Central Sulawesi.
They say the suspects are believed to be Muslims from Poso, a nearby district where
a three-year conflict between Muslims and Christians has claimed about 1,000 lives.
Police found a map of bombing targets and instructions on how to assemble
home-made bombs at the home of one of the suspects.
In a related development, Jakarta police have named two suspects in another New
Year blast at a shopping mall in the capital that killed one person on Tuesday.
Both suspects are believed to be from Aceh where separatist rebels are fighting for an
independent state.
