April 19, 1995: Ralph Turner, Texas Constitutional Militia

Transcription suspended because of prepared text.

"Bo" Gritz: There is a gentleman that I think, because we need not just to talk about what happened here, but we need to talk about what we can do, and I think a man has an answer, that's part of a Constitutional militia, of Texas. His name is, is Mr. Turner. A lot of you know him. Ralph is a man with thirty years of ministry experience. And, uh, he has his Texas militia, the Constitutional militia formed here today, and I want to introduce Ralph. If you'll come on up, we'll proceed with the ceremony. And again, it's only a remnant. That's why I wouldn't expect to see thousands of people out here. But like the remnant of Israel, that left Babylonia, once Cyrus freed them, you're the ones who have heart with God. You're the ones that matter. You're the champions. Thank you. [applause]

Thank you, Colonel Gritz. I normally refuse to use a written script, when I'm speaking, because I like to speak right out of my heart. But I thought because of the limited time and importance of what needs to be said in the next few moments, by way of introduction of the militia and specifically of what's going to take place to, close out, this ceremony, this part of it, I needed to jot down some thoughts, and, uh, stay on track. So if you'll stay with me, that's what we'll do. We are, daily coming up, but we're not going to let that bother us. Just act like it's not happening. But, uh, we are coming up with some things that we feel that, uh, are probably divinely inspired, that will allow the militia to move forward in a way that is not really life-threatening. There's a tremendous, power, that the American citizens have, called a power of citizen's arrest. And we're studying some things about that and gonna begin training some of the militiamen, and I think it'd be great to see some of these ATF agents and FBI agents hauled before a, a magistrate in handcuffs by Texas militiamen. And see them properly tried and put where there belong- or where they belong. [applause]

And a great American once said- been quite a while ago- "A well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained in arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country." The great American speaking this short piece is James Madison, and it was on the 6th of June, or 8th of June, 1789. Today, many Americans feel that, uh, this need, spoken of so many times by so many patriots in so many situations, has somehow been fulfilled by the National Guard and other And now it gives me great pride to present to you gathered here and to all who may view this ceremony, through any means, the Texas Constitutional Militia Honor Guard. [applause]

Thank you (shakes Doyle's hand)

[???]

What you need to do is sit down and be quiet! [Yeah! applause Whoo! Whoo!]

When order arms is given, would all of the militia members stand to attention.

Clive Doyle: We would invite the, members of the families and the survivors to come up and, take these crosses, and take them down into the grove and put them, at each of the trees, and anybody else that would like to participate. We thank you all for coming- and we pray that the Lord will bless you.
