Chapter Seven

Every time Tawny called the airline she was met with the same response. At that time there was no information they could reveal. They couldn’t even tell her if there were any survivors.

“Yes. I know. I understand. Okay.” JC said hanging up the phone.

Tawny looked at him expectantly.

“Sorry Tawn. The only thing they will tell me is that the engine gave out over Nevada.” He told her.

“Which we already knew.” Tawny replied.

JC put his arm around her. “It’ll be okay.”

“I wish you could guarantee that.” She said.

JC, Justin, Joey, Chris, Lance, Emma, and Annie were all over at the house. They were doing their best to comfort Tawny.

“Hey. The food is ready if anyone is hungry.” Joey called out.

Tawny remained on the couch as everyone walked into the kitchen. She was left alone with her thoughts, which was a dangerous companion at the time. What was she going to do if Wade was…She could even bring herself to say it.

“Tawny. You need to eat something.” Lance said.

“I know, it’s just. I don’t know.” She told him and she started to cry.

Lance sat down next to her. “Tawny. Do you think Wade would give up without a fight? Do you think he’d want you to lose your faith in him?”

Tawny shook her head.

“Then don’t.” he told her.

“It’s really hard.” She said.

“I know it is, but you’ve got to be brave.” He said. “Before you know it he’ll be walking through the front door.”

“I really hope you’re right.” She told him.
