Chapter Three

“Imagination”

“Okay from the top.” Wade said again.

Reese launched back into the routine she and Wade had been working on.

“Reese. I need attitude. You’re a bad ass okay? Show me.” He said to her.

“Wade, do I look like a bad ass to you?” She asked practically out of breath.

“No talking.” He said.

Reese stuck out her tongue at him. “You have too many rules.”

“Do you want to learn this dance or not?” he asked.

“Sorry, captain. I’ll be good.” She replied.

Wade just laughed. “If you think this is bad wait until you have to sing and dance at the same time.”

“I feel like I belong on ‘Making the Band.’” Reese said.

“What did I say about talking?” he asked.

“Sorry.” She replied.

“Okay, let’s take a break.” He told her.

Reese dropped to the ground. “Thank you Wade. Did I ever tell you that you’re my favorite choreographer?”

“How many choreographers have you had?” he asked suspiciously.

“Including you?” she asked.

He nodded. “Um…one.” She said meekly.

He smiled. “That’s what I thought.”

“Are we done dancing for today?” Reese asked.

Wade looked at the clock. Reese gave Wade huge puppy dog eyes.

“Yeah, we’re done.” He said.

“Yea! Now I can show you my other skills.” Reese said.

“Come again? Right in the middle of the dance studio? I thought you were attached.” Wade said.

“No silly. I meant my guitar skills.” She said.

“You play guitar?” he asked.

She nodded. “Sure, since I was little. Let me show you.” She ran to the other side of the studio and grabbed her guitar out of its case. “This song might be my next single. It’s called ‘Here With Me.’”

It's been a long, long time since I looked into the mirror

I guess that I was blind

Now my reflection's getting clearer

Now that you're gone things will never be the same again

There's not a minute that goes by every hour of every day

You're such a part of me

But I just pulled away

Well, I'm not the same girl

you used to know

I wish I said the words I never showed

I know you had to go away

I died just a little, and I feel it now

You're the one I need

I believe that I would cry just a little

Just to have you back now

Here with me

Here with me (Chorus)

You know that silence is loud when all you hear is your heart

And I wanted so badly just to be a part of something strong and true

But I was scared and left it all behind

Chorus

And I'm asking

And I'm wanting you to come back to me

Please?

I never will forget that look upon your face

How you turned away and left without a trace

But I understand that you did what you had to do

And I thank you Chorus until fade

('Here With Me'- Michelle Branch)

“Wow, that was amazing.” Wade said totally in awe.

Reese blushed. “I’m glad you liked it.”

“Tyler must be impressed.” Wade told her.

“I guess.” Reese said putting her guitar away.

“What do you mean?” Wade asked.

“He thinks it’s kind of strange that a girl plays the guitar. He really doesn’t like to listen to me play.” Reese said.

“I don’t see how anyone wouldn’t want to hear something as beautiful as that.” Wade said.

Reese shrugged. “That’s how its always been.”

Suddenly the door flew open. “Are you done with her yet aWade? We need her.” Rachael said.

“Well…” Wade said, like he wasn’t sure.

“Please aWade. We’ll be your bestest friend if you let her come with us.” Rylie pleaded.

“Well, okay. How could I refuse an offer like that?” Wade told the girls. “But I expect her back in one piece tomorrow.”

“We make no guarantees.” Rachael replied.
