Chapter Three

“It’s too early.” Justin whined.

“Quit your yapping.” Lorelai said. “We’re here to have fun.”

“The sun’s too bright.” Justin said.

“Well, let me tell it to stop shining. God, Justin you’re impossible.” Lorelai told him.

“Amen.” Adrienne said.

“I agree fully with the girls.” Lance said.

The gang decided to have a group outing at the Magic Kingdom. It had been awhile since they all did anything together and with the tour fast approaching they figured it was a good time.

“Lance would agree with Adrienne. He’s afraid she’ll beat him up if he said anything against her.” Justin said.

Adrienne looked like she was ready to spit fire. “Watch it boy!”

Wade nudged Lorelai. “This is exactly why I start practice at noon. Justin is way too hostile this early in the morning.”

“Smart boy.” Lorelai said.

“So what’s first? Hey, how about that ride over there?” Joey said indicating Space Mountain.

Caitlin looked over to the ride. “Any particular reason?”

“No. Why?” he asked.

“So that girl who is dressed up as Snow White standing in front of the ride has nothing to do with it?” she asked.

“Busted.” JC said.

Joey shrugged. “What can I say?”

“Space Mountain is a good idea.” Chris said excitedly. “Let’s ride!”

“Someone ate their Frosted Flakes this morning.” Lance said sarcastically.

The group walked toward the ride and got in line.

“Let’s play would you rather to kill time.” Lorelai suggested.

“NO!” everyone, except Wade, said in unison.

“Whoa, do I sense some hostility?” Lorelai asked.

“What’s would you rather?” Wade asked.

“This stupid game Lorelai makes us play all the time.” Joey said.

“It’s fun!” she said in her defense.

“Sweetie, it’s stupid.” Justin said. “We only play to shut you up.”

“Oh, fine. I see how it is.” Lorelai said. “Too bad. We’re playing. Now…”

“Oh, look it’s our turn.” JC said before Lorelai could say anything.

“Ya’ll got lucky this time. Catch ya at the end.” She said leaving the line.

“Where are you going?” Wade asked.

“You actually think I’m getting on that thing?” Lorelai snorted. “Good luck.”

“Lorelai’s a baby.” Justin said. “She refuses to go on roller coasters.”

“I’m not a baby. I’m just not into showing everyone what I ate for breakfast.” Lorelai said.

“Enough said.” JC said quickly. “Let’s go.”

Lorelai found a bench to sit on and people-watched until the gang got off the ride.

“Have fun?” Lorelai asked.

“I think Joey tried to feel me up.” Caitlin said shaking her head.

“I did not.” Joey said quickly.

Lorelai laughed. “Sure...sure. So what’s next?”

“Hmm…what will you actually go on?” Justin asked.

“Peter Pan looks pretty tame.” Wade suggested.

A look of terror washed over Lorelai’s face. “No way. Justin almost killed me on that ride.”

“How is that possible?” Wade asked.

“With Justin anything is possible.” Adrienne said.

“Yeah, he was all like this ride is tame Lorelai. Then we got into the little boat thing and he started rocking it. I thought I was gonna fall out and die.” Lorelai said shuddering.

“Okay…” Wade said.

“Oh! Small, small world.” Chris said excitedly.

“I think Chris enjoys that ride so much because he can relate to the elfish looking puppet children in it.” Adrienne said.

“I think it’s because they repeat that annoying song over and over. Kinda of the way Chris gets when he’s trying to bug the crap out of you.” JC said.

Everyone had to agree with JC on that one.

“How about Splash Mountain?” Justin suggested.

Lorelai shook her head. “It’s too cold.”

“I agree.” Adrienne said.

“Wusses!” Chris said.

“No, we’re sane. It is way too cold to go on that ride.” Caitlin replied.

“Well, fine then. You girls can go on something else. Me and the boys aren’t afraid of a getting a little wet.” Justin said.

“Actually, I think I’ll stick with the girls.” Wade said.

“Traitor.” Justin told him.

“No, for once aWade is being sensible.” Adrienne said. “Come on kiddies to the Haunted Mansion.”

The group parted ways and agreed to meet in an hour.

“This better not be too scary.” Lorelai said as they made their way to the mansion.

“Trust me, it’s not.” Adrienne said.

“You’re really going to trust something Adrienne says?” Wade asked.

“Watch it Aboriginal boy.” Adrienne shot back.

“That’s a new one.” Caitlin said. “I like it.”

Adrienne took a fake bow. “Thank you, I’ll be here all week.”

“We’re here.” Lorelai informed the group.

After the “elevator ride” they got into the little carts. Adrienne and Caitlin rode with some scary looking old man and Wade and Lorelai ended up with a cart to themselves.

“Hey Wade.” Lorelai said.

“Yes?” he asked her.

“If I break your hand because I squeeze it too hard out of terror promise me you won’t hold it against me.” She said.

“Sure.” He told her.

Lorelai remained calm throughout most of the ride until the very end when a ghost popped out of nowhere. She grabbed Wade’s hand and held on for dear life. Lorelai felt an electric spark go through her hand. Lorelai quickly dropped Wade’s hand.

“You okay?” he asked her.

“I’m fine.” She told him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to give you a shock.”

“Shock?” he asked. “I didn’t feel anything.”
