Chapter Ten
December 25, 2008
Allison bounced up and down on the bed.
“Wake up, wake up!!”
Justin barely could open his eyes.
“Allie…”
“Justin! It’s Christmas…wake up!” she squealed.
Justin laughed and pulled Allison toward him.
“You’re just like a little girl.” He said kissing her forehead.
“I’m just excited.” She said. “I want to give you your present.”
“Sweetie, I’m excited too, but don’t you think we could just chill for a moment?” Justin asked.
Allison gave him a look.
“Justin…” she whined.
“You’re lucky I love you.” He said sitting up on the bed. “Okay, where is it?”
Allison pulled a small box out of the nightstand drawer.
“Here you go.”
Justin shook the present.
“Hmmm…”
“Just open it!” Allison commanded.
“Okay, okay…it’s a picture frame.” He said.
“Thank you Captain Obvious. Look at the picture.” She told him.
Justin took a closer look.
“It a black and white blob. Is this one of those weird art photos you like?”
Allison shook her head.
“Nope.”
“Am I holding it right?” he asked flipping it around.
“You had it right the first time.” She said turning the frame.
“You know…it kinda looks like the sonogram that my stepmom had when she was pregnant with my brother…Oh my God!” Justin exclaimed. “Is that what it is?”
Allison nodded her head vigorously.
“Are you serious? You’re pregnant?!”
“Yes, I’m serious.” She replied.
“What? When? Are you okay to carry a baby after everything?” he asked.
“The doctor said I’d be fine.” She replied. “So I take it you’re happy.”
“Of course I am. Oh baby…I don’t know what to say.” Justin said holding back the tears he could feel in his eyes.
“Merry Christmas.” She said putting her arms around his neck.
Justin leaned toward her and put his forehead against hers.
“I can’t think of a better present. I love you.”
“Always and forever.” She said.
