Chapter Two

August 14, 2006

“Hello?” Justin asked.

“Hey, it’s me.” Allison replied.

Justin glanced at the clock…Allison’s 3:00 class had just ended.

“Are you on your way home?”

“Yeah, but I’ve got to stop by the florist first.” Allison said.

“Allie, the sky looks pretty dark and you know thunderstorms are supposed to be moving through.” Justin told her.

“It will only take me a few extra minutes. I’ll probably beat the rain anyway.” She said.

“Alright, be careful.” Justin warned.

“I will. Love you.” She said.

“I love you too.” Justin said hanging up the phone.

It was about 4:00. The couple lived about a half an hour from the conservatory and if Allison was stopping by the florist she should be home after 5:00.

Justin headed downstairs to his recording studio to work on some new ideas he had on his mind.

Allison stepped out of the florist shop into a downpour.

“Justin was right.” She mumbled as she hurried to her car. “I hate it when he’s right.”

She quickly got inside and started the engine. Allison turned on the headlights and windshield wipers. She slowly began to drive. As Allison made her way home the storm worsened and she could barely see anything.

“Fantabulous.” She muttered as the car next to her splashed water onto the windshield.

That’s when the car began to skid. Allison panicked and struggled to regain control of her car and that’s why she never saw the other car.

***
“Where are you Allison?” Justin asked as he dialed her cell phone number.

No answer.

It was after 6:30 and she still wasn’t home. Even in this storm Allison should be back by now.

The sound of a ringing phone caused Justin to jump.

“Allison?!”

“May I speak to Mr. Justin Timberlake?”

“Speaking.”

“Mr. Timberlake, this is Orlando Memorial Hospital. I’m afraid Allison Christensen was involved in an accident.”

All the color drained from Justin’s face.

“Wha…what happened?”

"Can you please come down to the ER sir?”

Justin dropped the phone and ran out the door.
