Dear Diary,

Well all I can say is this day has definitely turned out to be different! Understatement of the year...today was a day of confusion. First, I think the kiss of my dreams is happening (i.e. with the Quinn the ultra dense object of my affection) then the next thing you know I've traveled to another planet! (I know...I know..another dimension.) Wild huh? You see, Quinn invented this gizmo so we can jaunt around the universe. Geez I knew the guy was smart but this is amazing! We've actually traveled to a world where there was some kind of weird nuclear winter or something like that. There's no power and it's absolutely freezing here! We even found a picture of Quinn's family -- with a sister he never had!

I feel kind of sad for the occupants of this house. What happened here to cause such a horrific weather change? (I'm soooo cold!) Did my family exist here? Did I? Did they all die? It's hard not to get morbid when you're confronted by such a stark contrast to your own reality. After all, it's only a matter of choices I suppose, which separates my life from theirs. Amazing to think about...and scary!

P.S. I plan on hugging each and every member of my family when I get home. I'm really lucky to have them.
