:: It's Geek time ::

It is Big time Geek time.

I went to a family gathering lately, you know, the boring thing with all the aunts and cousins. Well, in past gatherings I used to talk and chat with the cooler ones (not that there are so many), you know, those who were in "Elite Unites", those who were in business, those who look better then other etc.

But its Geek time. And things changed. The star of this gathering was over 40, he was not dressed fashionably, or looked that good either. In older days you wouldn't give him another look.

Well, it's geek time.

You see, in the early 90's he used to work for this start-up company we all heard about, but didn't make it. Later he was one of the first programmers in another company we all heard about when it went to its IPO. Now he works for another, yep, most of us have already heard about it and those who didn't will hear about it when, you guessed right, it goes for an IPO.

I like it.

Hard working, educated people get a payoff. Not just money, but also social recognition.

The Wadi does make us better people.
