You know who's mother used to say - stupid is what stupid does.

So have a look at HotBar.com, but first beware. Once you hit this URL with Microsoft Internet Explorer an Active X download will start automatically. You have no way to avoid it, so if you are curious you will have to let it be.

Most people in the Wadi will tell you this is stupid. But let us see how many of the list readers will eventually let it be. My guess, not so few as you may think.

What HotBar does is absurd. A skin for the top bar of the browser, and a bar with some links on it.

Most people in the Wadi will tell you this is stupid. No one needs it, it does nothing and it is as complex to create as an average programming lab exercise at your local university.

HotBar is free, the company has no sustainable business model no revenues and a negative cash flow (I haven't talked to them but it's obvious isn't it?)

So they, and their investors, are stupid, right?

Let us see.

In less than 6 months hotbar.com became one f the top 200 sites on the web and growing. They have millions of users and are generating traffic never generated by a Wadi company since you-know-who. And just like you-know-who they did it with almost no advertising.

So they are not you-know-who, that is for sure, but let us listen to mommy for a second:

stupid is what stupid does, and HotBar.com sure aren't doing stupid things.

Maybe someone else is stupid around here?
