:: Moshe Movers ::
Lucky for me I had a chance to visit NYC twice in the past weeks. The restaurants were just as good, the streets as nice to walk in as they have ever
been, the shopping was just great and the city was full of Israelis. Nothing new.
However, a small change caught my eye.
Remember the time when most Israelis living there used to work for some furniture mover or kind? Well, these days are gone. "Moshe Movers" is now
"MosheMovers.com", and our guys are all the way into it.
Students who came to learn in the Big Apple, travelers on their way to South America, fortune seekers of all kinds are joining the industry for the
quick buck. They baby-sit servers, install new hardware, configure office networks, do Marcom and administration and show the new comers, mainly companies in relocation, the
neighborhood.
It's a nice job for young people in a foreign country and yet the companies they work for still remind me of "Moshe Movers". Hastily organized,
short-term focused and a little fishy. It seemed to me that though the industry changed, the chances of striking gold on the streets of America haven't.
And then again a small change caught my eye.
For Mom and Papa it's a different ballgame.
Darling is not just in the US, he is now working for an American Internet company, and occasionally he sends mail, no, not regular mail, they don't use
that any more there in the US. Darling is sending e-mail. And darling is playing it big in America. A dream comes true.
Same dreams different era.
