:: Beef ::
This is something I was so amazed to see I just have to share it with you (though I think it has nothing to do with the
Wadi).
You all know we here at the WadiList have an account with mail.com, and I'm sure you are all aware free mail services cover
their costs by advertising. Nothing new up to here.
Well these ads were placed by mail.com on my account page:
"Buy 6 Sirloins Get 6 Free at Omahasteaks.com!"
"30% off music at Barnes ∓ Noble.com"
The second one is trivial, the first one is a breakthrough in e-commerce. Someone is selling beef on-line. And not just
that. Lets look into the different scenarios of the advertising deal:
A. This is a paid for link - this scenario is reasonable as most people are really really hungry when they read e-mail and
just can't resist a good steak.
B. This is an exchanged link - this scenario is also very reasonable as most people who are rally hungry and go to buy
steaks on-line will just need a mail.com account to notify their friends about that.
C. This is a joint venture between the companies - this scenario is the one I would bet on. It is clear that mail service
providers just need to generate e-commerce sales and beef providers just can't make it without eyeballs (though they are not selling those yet, just regular beef
products).
D. It's April fever deep in the summer.
And they said B2C is dead.
Another sacred cow got slaughtered.
