Back in 1995, when I put up my first personal web-site (On a university server, no less), I Made sure all the pages were
black, with silver fonts. Black is very easy to work with. It will conceal all your design flaws, it creates that somber look so fitting a young reflective person, and most of
all, it shows that you mastered the BGCOLOR html tag, while novices and newbies used the default white.
A couple of months ago, Blue (Wadi Writer No. 2) told me that the colors of this summer's web sites will be white and gray.
While I never had any reason to doubt Blue's intuitions as to these matters over the years, I was kind of skeptical. White? Thats for novices. But - As always Blue was
right.
This summer websites are going to enjoy what is called "The Light Scandinavian" look.
Lots of whites, clean lines, outlines of figures and of course - Gray. Here in the wadi, people were quick to adopt, even
before the trend was announced. Sites like "Concep" (excellent excellent site) using a light interface. "YNet" and "Nana" are'nt that far away. As for the bigger portals - They're
still sticking with the Hunderd-Links-Per-Page look. Sites like Walla! and IOL just don't seem to get with the program. But that's not news too anyone.
By the way - My site is still black. I may just turn it white one of these days.
