:: First Look :: OmniGet ::
I try to be nice to people I really do, and I wouldn't have picked on OmniGet hadn't they started. But they did, so I have no choice.
A week after its launch OmniGet just had to run and tell the press they had 6,000 downloads and that soon people will be able to download this from
Download.com. Wahooo, 6,000 in one week, unbelievable, will be available on Download.com, no shit, really big news!!! And so they wasted my time on reading this and I had no
choice but to do this item. Forgive me.
6,000 in one week.
At the same pace they will have 300,000 within a year. I'll give them some credit.
Assume the fact this was a launch that the PR machine worked that anyone who knew the company went to see what it was all about and that all the aunts
and cousins downloaded in the first week don't count. Assume they will tenfold by the end of the year and 60,000 people download every week, and I mean EVERY week. Then assume
they will play the roulette and go double. Double the tenfold. Now they have six million downloads. This will usually amount to much less than 600,000 active users but let me
assume again. Assume a million active users. So?
So?
So what?
So, OmniGet just went and told the press it assumed it had nothing to sell. And they wasted my time and I did this item and I ask them to forgive
me.
And BTW - OmniGet is a program you download and using it you can search things on the web and they got $300K in funding and they are worth around $3M.
And here is the link if you want to download - http://www.OmniGet.com

P.S - download.com has this cool feature - you can see how many people downloaded the program. The Wad List will track this number. And we will let you
know. Ooooops. They are wasting my time again.
