:: Next Tuesday ::
First Tuesday is an informal meeting of investors, entrepreneurs and professional services providers that is to be held once a month in order to promote friendship, love
and tender care between business vultures. In other words, a Wadi networking event.
I assume that while you are reading this most of the people who attended the First Tuesday gathering at the top floor of the Azrieli Center yesterday managed to cram
themselves into the elevator and get home. I also assume it wasn't an easy task. I myself never got to the top floor as more than 1000 people were shoving each other to get their
badges and pass for the elevator going up. A sight to see.
This wasn't the case in First Tuesday meetings early this year, were 30 people were considered a crowd. What happened?
Simple.
A LOT of Start-Ups who are running out of cash and are willing to shove to get the dough. Investors have piles of money waiting to be invested in something that is even
remotely feasible. And professional services providers have to feed on the flow of
money.
And though I didn't get to the top floor I got the picture.
Those hunting for money are doomed as all the words that got them the seed investment just don't cut it anymore. Those looking for opportunities are wasting their time as
no serious entrepreneur will ever find himself shoving his way to an elevator speech. And professional services providers just have to look for the flow of money
elsewhere.
The bright side? It won't take long and the living dead will be dead. And shoving will stop. It might happen by next Tuesday, just hope it won't happen to
you.
I'm waiting on the ground floor for a while.
