:: Smells like teen spirit
::
"OAKLAND, CA - September 6, 2000 - DigiScents, Inc., the pioneer of digital scent technology, has announced its
acquisition of SenseIT Technologies, Inc."
Good for me. SenseIT is a Wadi company so I have an excuse to write about the digital
scents.
Pervasive and unambiguous computing is on the hot list of many. For years now we have been waiting for computing
to evolve, and while waiting we have compiled a list of things we want computers to do but they still can't. Understand me speaking, read my handwrite, translate things and
interact with all my senses.
Nuance did a good job on speech recognition. Palms can understand what I write. Systran can translate. Interaction
is harder. Some hardware must be involved. Distribution too. DigiScents has been a "coming to a theatre near you" kind of company for quite some time now. And we waited. And
waited. And waited.
As it now appears, those Americans just couldn't do it on their own. They need us to help the world cross the last
barrier. And the Wadi is giving a hand. We are about to teach the Americans how to teach a computer to
fart.
Guys, this IS a brave new
world.
Can you smell
it?
