As English is not my mother tongue this is going to be the hardest challenge I ever took. Hope to make it through without
embarrassing myself.
Have you seen the press releases with "Company X is raising amount
Y"?
I'm sure you
did.
I'm sure you also know the difference between "has raised" and "is raising". Well, if you are so sure, read
this.
"Company Z would have made a successful IPO raising $50M, had additional funds been raised in what would have been a mezzanine fund raising round.
However, as the amount already raised was not sufficient to support the company through the fund raising period, and as the press release stating the company is raising money has
not helped it to actually raise it, the company had to find other fund raising strategies. In what would now seem as a brilliant move the company announced it would raise the
amount it would have raised through an IPO from private investors in an unofficial fund raising round. The amount to be raised, bigger then the amount the company was to raise in
the Mezzanine round, would support the company until it will be able to raise $250M through an IPO. The company is to issue another press release in which it will state it is
raising according to the new strategy. The company will raise $50M in a single private fund raising
round."
Got it?
I did. There is something here definitely worth
billions.
And if this is still fiction I bet it is becoming real. Or has become. Or would have become. Or
something.
