Cahoots is boring.
So boring that after covering Hypernix
(may it rest in peace) and Odigo there is nothing left
to say about what the company does. But something
related to Cahoots caught my eye.
Someone named Dr. Shaul Ben-Porat has just
filed a lawsuit against some of Cahoots founders
claiming he is entitled to a share of their share in the
company.
You see the company did raise lots of
money (something like $42M up to date) and though there
is nothing exciting in what it does it is sitting on a
pile of cash. So unlike other Wadi Start-Ups and much
like a lot of publicly traded Dot-Coms, Chaoots is worth
at least its cash at hand.
Or does it?
True, it does require some creativity to
burn through several ten of millions of dollars. But I'm
sure Cahoots will find the way. And when it does, its
founders, and those seeking to get a share of their
share will find out something amazing. What is left for
the founders after investors took their part is exactly
the value they have created. And in the case of Cahoots
this can't be much bigger than the value created by
Hypernix founders.
So this lawsuit is a waste of money?
Not if you're a lawyer.
Some things never change.
