:: First Look - iCity
::
Well, this all started with an article in
TheMarker.
It talked about a company which is funded
by this guy, Ilan Ben-Dov, who was supposed to invest in
Tapuz.co.il and changed his mind. Analysts claim that
like most investors he figured out that all this dot-com
business is too risky. Who can blame him? And then he
went out and invested in a new site called iCity. Of
course - I went to check out what the new investors
invest in today, now that they don't invest in dot-com
companies anymore.
iCity is doing (hold on to your seats) a
virtual community, with avatars (graphic
representations). Wow. Back in the 90's you had this
site called "The Palace". It was such an
amazing place. You could chat with other people, using
avatars. It was really a big hit. But then people got
bored. That site no longer exists.
Now comes iCity, and do the same, only
with VRML. So - Instead of using regular chat, you can
use the iCity chat which is really slow, has bad
navigation, and well - Doesn't learn from history.
Anyone want to vouch for that million
dollar investment?
