:: First Look :: EarthNoise Vs. CastUP ::

It shouldn't have been a first look. This wasn't the plan. Not for EarthNoise nor for CastUP. They were to lead the video revolution.

Both Wadi companies started by providing a hub where people can upload and publish video clips. Both companies now position themselves as technology providers for video serving. Both are venture backed. EarthNoise even has AOL up the sleeve. That is about it. Not a lot for a Video revolution.

So here is what's going to happen according to the new (and temporary) Wadi List tradition of making bold predictions with no basis whatsoever:

Both companies are going to die. And then to decompose. And then the founders and investors and employees are going to start thinking of other things. And then it is going to get hot, and cold, and hot, and cold-hot-cold-hot and it is going to be summer of 2004. And they are going to sit at home, in front of something we used to call a TV (but now call MSNTV). And they are going to zap between something we used to call channels (but now call MSNTV channels). And they are going to feel this is familiar. This was their mission. Their vision. Their call. And then a commercial break will come (we now call this Interstitial Rich Media Banner). And they will forget it all, and go take the pizza out of the Internet connected Microwave oven.

Nope.

The last thing won't happen. But the rest will.

Trust me, I've seen the movie (we now call it a movie).
