:: First Look :: Cellonet Vs.
Cellenium :: Part 1 ::
In 1898 Herbert George Wells wrote a great
science fiction book - The War of the Worlds. And in
doing so he gave us an insight into the future of
Cellular Payment systems.
In Hollywood movies the whole idea is to
have a good fight and then to have a winner. We tend to
think of commercial competition the same way. Microsoft
won the Operating System War, then it won the Browser
war. Netscape lost the Browser War, then it lost the
Portal War. We have a fight, we have a winner.
Cellonet and Cellenium are both Wadi
companies offering Cellular Payment systems. Obviously
they are not alone. Many others fight to win the Payment
System War.
The whole idea is to turn the cellular
phone into a secured wallet, enabling instant and simple
payment for anything from Parking and Gas to Coke and
Plane Tickets. You will never have to bother yourself
with opening your leather wallet again.
Those systems are not trivial, and the war
is not simple. You need some real server programming,
some real security and a lot of business development.
Then you have to fight for market share. It is a bloody
war, and when it ends we will have a winner.
Right?
Maybe. Maybe not.
The ancient Englishman was smarter than
that. He knew better. He really understood the
market.
Stay tuned.
