:: Sunday, Friday, GMT+2 ::

"Some say that the Silicon Valley's most serious global competitor is the mini-sprawl around Tel Aviv," ("The Hot New Tech Cities", "Newsweek", November 3, 1998).

In days of trouble, and these are days of such, it's time to look back and search for the basic attributes that one can count on. The things that are sustainable. The things that are real.

I found three of those.

Sunday, Friday, GMT+2.

Three attributes of the Wadi that will always be here. Three attributes that give us a competitive edge. Three we can count on.

Sunday, because we work on Sunday. So while the whole world is resting, people at Wadi companies have time to prepare, to think, to set themselves up for another week of business interactions with the Western World.

Friday, because they work on Friday. And if they call, we answer, if they write e-mail, we write them back. If we want to squeeze one more thing before they go to their weekend, we'll do it. So we also work on Friday.

And GMT+2 because we start early and finish late.

In days of trouble, the time people put in is more valuable. And in general, we put more time in. So we have an advantage. Nothing we planned. That's just the way it is.

Good for us.
