Fax to Dheifallah from Monster Adventure Travel MONSTER ADVENTURE TRAVEL Dear Dayfallah, Thank you for organising our recent rip to Wadi Rum. Everything went well, and the clients were all very pleased, especially with the evening of Beduin music. The only slight sour note was on one of the desert tours when the ?Park Rangers? (is that their correct title ?) came to ask for permits etc. It was not really that they were unpleasant, just that some of the clients felt that this kind of very overt regulation rather spoiled the “wilderness” aspect of being in the desert with the Beduin. We have heard various (sometimes contradictory) things about plans for the future regulation of Wadi Rum, and are a little concerned that this sort of thing will increase. Perhaps you could get us a copy of any plans which the authorities have for new rules and regulations in Wadi Rum ? Obviously in English would be best, but if in Arabic we could have it translated here. We are looking at our programme for the medium to longer term, and want to have an idea of how things are likely to change, whether there could be restrictions on travelling and camping in the desert etc… (If so, we might have to consider other options.) On a happie rnote, I met a tour operator called Hany, who does adventure travel tours in Egypt, and is thinking of expanding into Jordan. I sang the praises of Wadi Rum, and gave him your details, so hopefully he will get in touch to discuss. All for now. We hope to run another trip in March, but bookings are low, so I’ll let you know…. Thanks again.
