Hope's Wings

I watched the dragonfly
Flutter by,
And couldn't help but think,
If one looks at things
Just the right way,
The entire world is pink.

I cannot place
The colour
Of its delicate wings.
The angle of view
Changes all
The events that life will bring.

The world is in need of
A brand new pair,
Of rose-coloured glasses to use,
Some optimism
Simply might
Fix this planet's blues.

It tastes like fresh honey
