You work for the UDI (Universal Defense Initiative) and are onboard the IRDC-Renegade, which is a rather small vessle that you were assigned to use for patroling an area with little to no activity from enemies. The ship itself has minimal offensive and defense weapon capabilities, and you wonder to yourself what the enemy would make of the ship if it was encountered. Laughing at the thought of a massive Skaarj War Cruiser vs a piontless little "patrol" craft, you think about how the ship doesn't even serve much of a purpose outside of the military except for Cargo Transport. One dreary day cruising through space, you are attacked my a slamming, earth-shaking assault from two Skaarj Carriers. You think to yourself "There were no fighters on radar(before the panel exploded), and the carriers weren't shooting at the ship... so what was doing all the damage?" when suddenly, as you rush onto the Bridge, another titanic warhead wacks the bow of the ship from below and all three of the Bridge Commanders in front of you are killed in the explosion. You realise that you have only one option: Get to the docking bay and escape the ship. But it won't be easy... Security has been breached, and now the Skaarj can freely individually teleport from the carrier directly into almost any part of the ship. They've gotten into the ship all the way up to Area B... You find out that the Docking Bay has been blocked off by pieces of the wall that collapsed from the blows, which have ceased now that the Skaarj are inside. You think to yourself: "I must get to the Emergency Teleporters, they're made just for this kind of situation..." But panels indicate that they have been sealed off via energy containment field, which can only be deactivated in Engineering, and the only way into Engineering is to activate the Emergency Power System(EPS)... After many conflicts with Skaarj and you manage to get into your escape ship, you depart and land on a friendly planet that happened to be nearby. It only had a few mining compounds and one city, but it was better than the ship. After grounding and getting out of the shuttle, you are relieved that you are back on friendly territory. Or atleast you thought it was friendly territory... |
