Teaching is what our lives are all about
Ashlee requested information to help
with a school project. As is custom she was taught many things for
her level of understanding.

"In the Cherokee belief, the first 50 years of our lives are lived
in making every possible mistake; in working off old karma; in
learning lessons that are sometimes very hard and very difficult
(especially if we're slow learners) in finding one brick wall
after another to run into. Toward the end of our 50th year, we have
cleared our spirits, learned our lessons, and have gained valuable
insights and experiences that allow us to be of true value to
ourselves and others. On our 51st birthday, our way is clear and
we set our feet on the true path that is to be our destiny for this earth walk.
The Beloved Women were the final decision makers in the Cherokee
culture, and they were not even considered for this honor and
responsibility until they were 51. No position of authority and
leadership was considered for anyone until they reached 51 --
under the "normal" course of events, that is.
Of course, there were tragedies and unusual events that may have put
someone in such a position younger in their life, but they were
watched carefully for errors in judgment.
So, you see, you should look at these challenges and events that give
you such pain as exactly what they are: the learning and tempering
Spirit has given you in order that you may live your destiny fully.
Don't be discouraged and sad
Be joyful!! The best is yet to come."
