When horizon draws near.....

Ambewela , situated 137 miles from Colombo along the scenic Main Line rail track spanning the capital to the remote town Badulla is a place frequently haunted by dense shrouds of mist. Just a stone's throw from the hillside resort Nuwara-Eliya ( indeed there's a direct bus from NE to Pattipola running via this place - Pattipola is actually the next station and a few meters from there the train lumbers up the highest point of Sri Lankan railway , the Summit Level ) this mini- heaven is located en route to the famous World's End and boasts of greeny pastures which have bestowed on it probably the island's largest milk factory the "Milco".

Ambewela and many other areas like it were hidden under thick forests untrodden and unblemished by humans till the British colonists arrived and established the railway links to transport their plantation products.
