A3023 Final Year Project (FYP) 1998/1999 |
In the last two years, the object-relational database has been developed, on the basis of conventional relational and object-oriented database models. It becomes increasingly popular in the database community and many commercial companies.
This FYP will investigate and explore the distributed features of new-generation object-relational databases such as Oracle 8, Illustra and Object Store. In particular, it will incorporate the CORBA concept into these databases, in order to support distributed and heterogeneous applications of the latter. Moreover, intelligent agents may need to be utilised to support such complex operations.
