Servicing the vehicles
It's a pain when your preferred service businesses are neither near work or home.
Yesterday I dropped the car off for a service.. it's midway between work and home.. but not on the most direct route. Why do I go there? Well, I used to use another of their branches. But it closed last year. In return for having to go out of my way. I get a 20 percent discount. And when the service included work on the brakes and a few other things, I saved 100 dollars.
Dropping the car off at lunchtime.. on the way home from work.. I then had to catch 2 buses which took about 80 minutes for a trip I can do by car in 15 50 20.
Today after work, I had to drop the motorbike off. It'a a BMW so I didn't want to just get it serviced anywhere. So another 2 bus trips. This time it wasn't to get home though. It was to get to my car. From there I picked up the mower, which I'd dropped off a week ago (remember the dentist saga).
Maybe I'd be better off moving house. But wait, I'm getting quotes to get my house painted. 3 quotes in so far.. 2 more to come. At the moment the cheapest is half the price of the dearest. But the most expensive painted the house last time.. and it's lasted about 15 years. Would the cheaper paintjob last that long? Will I still be here in another 15 years??
