Verses of January

Week of 1/27/2002 to 2/2/2002

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (1 Corinthians 1:24)

I know of and had experienced instances where I am looked down upon because I believe in God and love Him. Yet even though we are sometimes looked down upon as fools and weak ones, we have God, and He is stronger than all, and gives us salvation. He in reality is wiser and stronger than any person or situation, as I have learned time and time again when I can't struggle anymore and just turn to him. Even in the little things, like losing a book, the Lord can lead me through and show me He is real by relieving my fear and bringing it back to me. When others ridicule, though it hurts, I know that God is real, because I have experienced His grace. The Lord is wise and good, no matter what others say.

Week of 1/20/2002 to 1/26/2002

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13)

So many times, I lose faith. I can't have faith of myself, I don't trust in the power of the Lord. But praise the Lord! He is always faithful, and He believes for us, andgiveus faith to go on through all situations.

Week of 1/13/2002 to 1/19/2002

O Jehovah Lord, strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle. (Psalms 140:7)
And receive the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which Spirit is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)

I am happy that the Lord has covered my head with salvation and gave the the sword of His word and the Spirit, because in this time, with so many ideas and philosophies going around, only He can preserve us to know the truth. He both confirms us with his wonderful salvation and gives us the Word and His Spirit to fight the good fight. I praise the Father for His marvelousness, because so many people today are confused about who they are and why they are here, but I am not because of Him.

Week of 1/6/2002 to 1/12/2002

I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Though I might me bogged down with all the business of my life and have a lot of things to take care of and resolve, I can always just read this verse and be reminded that it is Christ who lives in me, so why should I struggle? It is He who is doing the living. I have already been crucified. All I do is appreciate and enjoy Him.

Week of 12/30/2001 to 1/5/2002

These things I have spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have affliction, but take courage; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

First of all, happy New Year! As this new year starts and I go back to school I am reminded of all the things that are good and new, but also the things that bother me or are troublesome. Yet as this verse says, though we have affliction in this world, He has overcome the world, so therefore we in Him have overcome the world as well. I'm so joyful that I have overcome the world! In Him the troubles of the world have no effect on me! I can just enjoy the Lord.
