Ever wish you could go back in time, and tell yourself not to do something, or do something else instead?

Ever wish you could send a mesage to your younger self, telling them never to give up hope, that things can get better?

Ever wish you could send your knowledge back to a younger self so they wouldn't make the same mistakes you did?

Ever wish you had payed more attention to someone?  Said 'I love you' before the person you loved was gone forever?

Ever wish you could rewrite history?

What if you could?  Would you take the chance, even if it meant losing what you had now?  Would you risk your very existance on the glimmer of hope that you could have made the right choice, if only you knew?

I would.


Knowledge is Power is my first real fan-fic.  For the first time, I am re-writing an entire universe the way it could have been, under better circumstances.  Fans of the darker Eva world may not like this story, since my one new character is doing his level best to keep the darkness away.

The story is divided into three books:  "Know Thy Enemy," "Know Thy Self," and the third book, "Wisdom's Fruit," will be the reworked End of Eva, using the new characterizations and scenarios.  The main focus of this new universe is preventing the mistakes made in the original timeline, and making better choices in the pilot's social lives that will let them lead slightly better lives.

As I said, some of you may not like this.  Personally, I always wondered what would have happened if Eva hadn't taken its turn to the darkside.  This is the result of that wondering, beginning at the beginning.  One of my pet peeves about Eva stories is that they generally seem to start off just after Asuka joins the main storyline.  There's so much that could be done with the Shinji/Rei relationship before Asuka shows up that could improve their relationships with Der Redhead.

Now, enjoy Knowledge is Power.  And if you don't, then don't waste time flaming me, write your own damned fanfics!  I swear, if you write your own and claim it's better than mine, I'll post a link to it.
