Traffic Report

We have had over 40 people arrested or cited into town court so far this year, mostly for traffic offenses: DUI, no license, etc. We have had 23 accidents this year, as opposed to only 14 last year at this time.
Some say Walkerton is a 'speed-trap'. U.S. Highway 6 runs right through town and is a popular trucker's route. On each side of town the speed limit is 55, but gradually decreases to 25 through downtown. We want to keep our children safe, hence, we write many speeding tickets. By the way, our small town has only one traffic light!
